'Anything Goes: The Cole Porter Review'

Three stars
Concerts on the Canal; Indiana History Center; June 19

Actors Theatre of Indiana presented a zesty review of Indiana’s own Cole Porter, stumping the audience with “Name the Broadway show that song was in.” Seems as though we Hoosiers need to brush up on our Porter. Featured were vocalists Don Farrell, Judy Fitzgerald and Cynthia Collins along with Terry Woods on keyboard, Greg Wolff on drums, Jay Emrich on bass and Jay Young on sax and clarinet. Woods arranged the music for solos, duets and trios and instrumental interludes to show off the breadth and depth of Porter’s range. Unfortunately, the sound system lost the sax and clarinet, resulting in an unbalanced presentation. ATI came to Indianapolis in 2005 and has been featuring revues since.  www.actorstheatreofIndiana.org.
