Cameron McCarthy was born in North Queensland, Australia — his mother is from the Kuku-Yalanji tribe and his father is from the Ba-Barum and Yidinji tribes. McCarthy is a performer and artist who has performed with Naringeri Narunga Dreaming Dance Group and Blek Affiliation, an indigenous hip-hop group. Since 2001, he has been living in New York and working as a didgeridoo player, dancer, public speaker and artist.

McFee’s Gallery at 874 Massachusetts Ave. will present a one-man show of McCarthy’s work, with an opening July 11 that will be attended by the artist. McFee’s will be open from 12-7 p.m. that day. For a full gallery schedule and more information on the opening, call 317-822-5922.
