Suburban Allotropy

The seventh installment of Allotropy, Primary Colours’ floating arts happening, takes place Oct. 8-9. But where past Allotropy events have taken place in urban settings, this version finds itself in the Model Mill at 802 Mulberry St. in Noblesville. Allotropy is a juried event that brings together 20-30 artists working in a variety of mediums, including photography, sculpture and painting with live music, food and drink. For this incarnation, Mythopeic Industries will be producing the music, including The Zzzz’s from Chicago, the 19-piece Monster Zero Orchestra from Bloomington and Indianapolis’ Impulse Trio (all performing on Saturday). MC for both nights will be Lord of the Yum Yum, plus the DJ stylings of Mpozi spinning reggae and E. Brown spinning Avant Jazz. Among the artists showing work will be Justin Cooper, Larry Endicott, Blythe Hagar, Paul Moschell, Cheryl Passwater, Michelle Pemberton and Brian Priest. Hours for both nights are 5-11 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 with student ID. For more information, e-mail info@primarycolours.org.
