The Children’s Museum

One of the niftier things about the Curious George exhibit is that it’s pretty much the entire Children’s Museum in microcosm, with activities that relate to every age group from infants to pre-teens. It’s spread out in an organic fashion that allows families to wander through and take things in whatever order they like, and yet on a crowded Saturday afternoon, it never felt chaotic. It was more educational at times than I expected — detailing, for example, the escape of Margret and H.A. Rey, George’s creators, from Nazis in WWII. Activity highlights include a giant foam-block assembly line — I’m not really clear on what it does, but the little monkeys of the family will enjoy watching and loading — not to mention all the other fun stuff to climb on or get into. Let’s face it: There’s no better match than the lovable little monkey who’s always in over his head and the place that encourages kids to dive headlong into things in every way possible.
