Indy Monthly Magic premieres
by Editors Mar 26, 2008

Indianapolis has long been home to a community of talented magicians. Many of these artists used to ply their skills at Illusions restaurant on the far Northside (Who can forget the fellow whose trademark was taking off his shoe and dropping a rock the size of a tennis ball on the table? Brilliant!). Sadly, Illusions is no more. But Taylor Martin, who has been such a hit at IndyFringe, has created a new platform for local magicians and a public that loves to be amazed. Indy Monthly Magic will have its opening night at Theatre on the Square April 1 at 7:30 p.m. After that, Martin promises a different show the first Tuesday of every month featuring local and nationally recognized magicians.

First up on Tuesday will be Glamente the Dark Knight of Magic, the great feats and illusions of Doug Jave, Ryan Siebert’s awesome card tricks and Mark Booth and his owl. Martin will host and, of course, perform. A Straitjacket Throwdown will be offered as a special added attraction.

Tickets are $15 for adults, youngsters 12 and under are $7. For tickets, call 317-685-8687 or go to the TOTS box office at 627 Massachusetts Ave. For more information, call 317-431-1320 or e-mail indymonthlymagic@aol.com.
