The Indy Folk Series is closing out its 2007-2008 season with the folk duo of Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett.

“This will be our first time playing the Indy Folk Series, and I'm really looking forward to it,” Luckett said. “The thing I like best about playing such venues is that it's a real ‘listening environment. People are there to hear the music, and it's generally just a really great vibe.  People bring their best energy to places like this.”
Ziesemer and Luckett have been playing as an acoustic duo for six years. In the two years prior to forming the duo, Ziesemer was the bass player in Luckett’s band, Diamond and Rust.

Luckett says her favorite thing about playing with Greg is that she gets “to do what I love with my best friend, and we get to share our experience with awesome people. What could be better than that? I also love how supportive we are of each other's music. We have always clicked on so many levels, and music is such a personal means of expression.  It's great to have a partner who's so unwaveringly supportive.”

“Our performance showcases each of us as songwriters,” Luckett continues. “We write contemporary Americana folk songs, and perform with two guitars and two voices.   We generally alternate our songs — Greg sings a song of his choice, then I sing one of mine.  While the focus of our shows is on original music, we also throw in a few well-selected cover songs here and there.  It's fun singing our own stuff, but we also enjoy paying tribute to the songwriters who inspire us.”

Luckett would like to share some exciting news: “Greg and I will be performing May 17 at the Ohio River Valley Folk Festival in Madison, Ind. We're sharing the stage with some amazing singer/songwriters that weekend, including Tom Paxton, Chris Smither, Red Molly, Otis Gibbs and James McMurtry. I think it's safe to say that this is the coolest gig we've ever done!”
