Lesser of the two evils
by Letter to the Editor Feb 7, 2007

I do not share in Steve Hammer’s lamentation over Sen. John Kerry’s decision not to run for president in ’08 (Hammer, “The Ballad of John Kerry,” Jan. 31-Feb. 7). John Kerry is a multimillionaire who married an heiress to a fortune and he voted for the Iraq war. He does not represent the working-class interests but rather he would have been a faithful servant to big business carrying out their agenda if he were in the White House. Although I did vote for Kerry in ’04, I felt he was the lesser of the two evils.

Congressman Dennis Kucinich is running once again for president on a platform of peace. The world needs a progressive in the White House now more than ever and Kucinich is the only candidate who has the ideas to get America on track to slow down global warming, end our military involvement in the Middle East and he supports universal health care. More importantly, Dennis Kucinich is not a puppet to the corporate elite who will fight for the working class and bring the troops home.
