Orchard In Bloom, recognized by the American Horticultural Society as one of the top garden shows in the country, will showcase not just garden ideas and art, but also national exhibitors, live music, speakers, children’s activities and, new this year, a farmers’ market (Friday and Saturday).

Sara Snow, creator and host of Get Fresh with Sara Snow and Living Fresh for the Discovery Network, will be a featured speaker May 2, 10 a.m. She will do a cooking demonstration using organic ingredients fresh from the farmers’ market. Joe Lamp’l, host of Fresh From the Garden on DIY Network, will be a featured speaker Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at noon.

Rooms In Bloom features trend-setting ideas for patio and porch living. Visit the Garden Pavilion tents to see examples of innovative gardens created by landscape designers. Scattered throughout the show are Microgardens, specialized gardens ideally suited to small spaces. Shop the Gardener’s Market where regional and national exhibitors sell a host of items. Talk to experts from local gardening organizations and not-for-profit groups.

The event takes place at Holliday Park, 64th and Spring Mill Road. Proceeds support outdoor education programs at Holliday Park and The Orchard School. “Before The Bloom” Preview Party is May 1, 6-8:30 p.m.; tickets are $45. Regular show dates are May 2-3, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and May 4, noon-5 p.m. Free parking is available, and a shuttle service at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate. Children 14 and under are free. For more information: www.orchardinbloom.org.
