Now that the Indiana Toll Road is being managed by a private company, the prospect of a strike by toll collectors is looming due to the Indiana Toll Road Concession Company’s desire to use temporary workers. The ITRCC wants as many as 30 percent temps, but the Teamsters want temp positions limited to 10 percent. Labor and management are also at odds over wages and benefits. Talks were stalled on Monday. With elections coming, a walk-out by toll road workers is the last thing Gov. Daniels needs in Northern Indiana.
