Well, well, well
by Editors Mar 12, 2008

The Midwest premiere of Well, Lisa Kron’s comedy about mothers, daughters, identity, healing and forgiveness, will be presented at the Phoenix Theatre March 13-April 6. The show premiered on Broadway in March of 2006, and was named among the best plays of 2006 by the New York Times, the Associated Press, Backstage and The Advocate.

Kron — the playwright made herself the lead character — is trying to come to grips with her childhood and her adult relationship with her mother. In an effort to put it all into perspective, she is exploring a new kind of theatrical construction, but her mother keeps butting in. Well explores the dynamics of health, family and community with the story of the author’s mother’s extraordinary ability to heal a changing neighborhood.

Well will be performed in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre. Performances are Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25, or $15 for those 24 and under. During CheapSeats week, March 13-16, all tickets are just $15. For reservations, call the box office, 749 N. Park Ave., at 317-635-PLAY or go to www.phoenixtheatre.org.
