BIO: 19Clark25 is an Indianapolis based roots rock/country band. Mixing elements of country, blues, rock, and punk, they have created a gutsy, swampy sound. 19Clark25 began with a lie. When local favorite Deacon Sean asked his former Drunken Deacons band mate, J. James if he had a band and would like to play a show. J. James lied and accepted the gig. With only a month to go till the show, J. James called on some friends including guitarist Tom Glasel and bassist Mike Stilts (Polyester Starfish, Drunken Deacons). Tom brought in drummer Scott Tolley (NowhereGoodFast, Man-e-Taboada) and fiddle player Nicole Smith. Scott brought in slide guitarist and harmonica player Jay Stein. Originally intended as a one-off, after their first show in late January at the Melody Inn, they agreed to keep the band together. But trouble was around the corner. Nicole abruptly moved to Tennessee and a freak alcohol related incident involving a bar stool and the floor left Scott with a broken thumb. Over the next couple months, J. James, Tom, and Scott would continue to get together to write songs and keep the momentum going. The thumb healed and the new lineup was in place. They have been playing around the area ever since including their own Hunker On Down Monday show at Birdys every month.
