Second-seeded Frenchman tennis pro Gilles Simon defeated No. 3 seeded Russian Dmitry Tursunov to in only two matches both 6-4 collect the Indianapolis Tennis Championship tournament trophy on the afternoon of Sunday July 20th at the Indianapolis Tennis Center.

Indy's biggest punk fest of the year, Piradical Fest II went down last Saturday, July 19th at Trinity Church's Central Space near Broad Ripple. Two stages allowed quick transitions between sets as twenty different bands booked by Piradical Productions were crammed into 12 hours.

The Dark Knight Gala. A night honoring filmmaker Christopher Nolan. Cinema/Chicago, the 44th Chicago International Film Festival and Warner Bros. Pictures presented the first Chicago showing of THE DARK KNIGHT, the follow-up to the action hit Batman Begins. The evening included a tribute to filmmaker Christopher Nolan followed by a screening of THE DARK KNIGHT in IMAX® A dinner reception followed the tribute and screening in the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier, lit up by a spectacular fireworks display. The Gala benefited Cinema/Chicago, its year-round educational programs, and the 44th Chicago International Film Festival.
